Kind-ness

I've been home now for more than 24 hours ... and I'm still overwhelmed at the five days I spent with my brother and his sweet wife, Carol, in St. Petersburg, Florida.

I took 916 pictures. I'm not terribly thrilled with them ... but I think I can salvage a few dozen to use for card-making purposes. I have a lot of editing and cleaning up to do of the few that I like, and I'm not in the mood to do it! I'm feeling a little melancholy upon returning home. So instead of showing you my pictures today, I'm just going to tell you a little bit about my brother, David. He is a person characterized by kindness.

Kind-ness
- noun
1. the state or quality of being kind
2. a kind act
3. kind behavior

Kind
- adjective
1. of a good or benevolent nature or disposition, as a person: a kind and loving person.
2. having, showing, or proceeding from benevolence: kind words.
3. indulgent, considerate, or helpful; humane (often followed by to): to be kind to animals.
4. British Dialect: loving, affectionate.

-- Synonyms
Mild, benign, gentle, tender, compassionate, kindhearted, with a sympathetic attitude toward others, and a willingness to do good or give pleasure.

Those definitions describe my brother David almost perfectly! No, no, no ... I did not say he was PERFECT ... he would find that offensive. But looking back on this last few days, I am overwhelmed and very moved by his tender kindness to me.

I'll tell you more about our time together when I am ready to ... but for today ... I just wanted to say a special thanks to David and Carol ... on this earth, two nicer folk would be difficult to find.
