June 30 A revisit of Marilyn's Garden

Tuesday: Just around the corner of the street where my sister lives, there is an old friend of ours who has her own very beautiful, rather magical, garden. Her name is Marilyn. She has worked in her garden for many years and is now in her early 80's. She spends time every day pruning and weeding and arranging and adding little bits of her own creativity to the magnificent beauty of God's.
Marilyn's garden is not so much about FLOWERS as it is about leaves and ferns, textures and shapes, rocks and sloping hills, little pathways and darling decorations ...

Here is Marilyn and my sis talking about the different aspects of the garden.

The photos really speak for themselves, don't they? God is such an amazing Creator. I think heaven surely will be like this place but even better.

Marilyn is a super sweet and humble woman. She doesn't brag on all of her hard work but she DOES give glory to God who made EVERYTHING.

I can imagine any amount of magic happening here, can't you?

And aren't these the loveliest lilies?

 The color is absolutely delicious.

Thanks so much, Lord, for all You have designed and Created and given to us to enjoy. You are an amazing God!

June 30 with Ruthanne and Terry

Tuesday: I drove across the state to visit Ruthanne and Terry yesterday morning (Monday). Ruthanne had such a nice lunch prepared for my arrival! We ate it out on their screened-in back porch (pictured in the 7th photo below). I love their house. Terry and his father's builders built this house and Terry spent his high school years in this house--but it looked much different from this. He and Ruthanne renovated a lot of the house about eight years ago when they moved into it.
Matey came along for the trip. He did very well at their house. He probably felt he had moved into a MANSION! Their house is considerably larger than mine but Matey felt comfortable and at home immediately!
I showed Ruthanne and Terry how Matey loves to play with straws. He entertained us for awhile!
Matey flew to Ruthanne and Terry quite readily too! What a sweet little bird he is!

We played ping-pong in their very nice basement (I didn't take any pictures down there). We played Scrabble (twice) and Quiddler. We had a super relaxing time together. We ate out Monday evening at Bubba's--the first restaurant I have eaten inside of since COVID.

Such a beautiful and comfortable house!

I reluctantly left their place at about 3:00 Tuesday afternoon to return to Grand Rapids. On the way home, I drove by my high school alma mater ... here it is: Cousino High School! I graduated 49 years ago.

It looks like the building has undergone a few upgrades in the last few years ... but I still could recognize the outside.
