Tom and Judy invited us to enjoy a concert with them tonight -- "A Night at the Ivories", down at the Meijer Theater at Van Andel Museum Center. It featured the music of Alex Zsolt, a gospel pianist, who actually attends our church. But the concert was a nice mix of Gospel, jazz, patriotic, and Christmas music.
The museum was already decked out for Christmas. Most of the museum was roped off (because this was an evening concert -- after regular museum hours).
This is the Meijer Theater on the second floor of the museum. Alex performed on the piano, his wife joined him for a few numbers on the clarinet, and another fellow was a pretty accomplished saxophonist and did a few songs as well.
It was nice to be with Tom and Judy, enjoy their friendship, and take in this pre-holiday concert! After the concert, Mr. Jones and Tom walked to get the car and we girls waited at the museum for our chauffeurs! I ran outside to snap a few pictures! I love Grand Rapids at night. We have such a pretty city.
Judy served us wonderful lemon meringue pie at their house after the concert. They wanted to know how all of you were doing, so we caught them up on the family news for a little while. All and all, we had a very enjoyable evening!
