March 28 Cuties!

Tuesday:  I took a LOT of pictures of these "littles" today at my house and I'm just going to run them for you!

Cal remains very intense about ... CARS, trucks and trains ...

Cal interacting with "Herbie" ... this was a scream to watch ...

Cal's darling little expressions ... he is SO amused at hearing his voice repeated in the silly manner Herbie does ...

Erin was cracking too! Herbie never fails to entertain!

Erin and Cal ... you are TWO sweeties.

Erin requested that we paint again this week. Yes! Gladly!
Cal even got interested for ... about two minutes ...

He was very pleased with his painting, hopped down and continued playing trains.
Erin is a very serious little artist ... she completely relaxes and enjoys the process completely. A girl after my own heart.

After an emotionally rough few days, these little ones were good medicine for their old grandma's heart. I thank you, Lord, for the gift of this family.

March 23 Dear Kaity

Thursday:  I had such a nice time this afternoon and evening with my Kaity-Girl. I love her so. I got out a few "things" that had been stored away in a bin in my art closet. For quite awhile, Kaity experimented with the Spirograft equipment--it was fun to watch her enjoy herself. Also, she used the etching stylist and enjoyed herself hugely making designs in that book.

We ate a nice meal together, and then Kaity requested that we re-watch the first Jurassic World movie. Kaity was anticipating hilarious screaming from me--which was the entire reason why she wanted to watch the movie. I'll have to admit, the first 20 minutes did NOT produce any screams from me--but once the giant dinosaur escaped its enclosure and began eating everyone in sight--I was screaming my head off. Kaity totally cracked up.

We took a little break to have some chocolate ice cream, and then Kaity experimented with this kind of imitation Fly Orb Hover Ball. I'm not sure it's the official one because I purchased it at Sam's Club just before Christmas for $12.95. When I look on-line, they usually sell at $29.95 (even on Amazon); so this must be a fake. However, it is very fun. Kaity is starting to get the hang of it.

It's tricky to get used to. When you have the thing charged, you turn it "on", shake it, and then a FAN begins blowing and when you release it (depending on your angle), it will "fly" away from you or toward you. It's not easy to control, though, so there are surprises that sent us into fits of laughter.
Look at Kaity's expressions!

Good job, Kaity! You did really well figuring this gadget out.

March 18 Brief sledding

Saturday afternoon:  Kaity agreed to sled down the hill a few times this afternoon. I caught most of it on camera. It was SO cold and VERY windy ... so our time on the hill was brief!

The wind was fairly howling and it felt like zero degrees outside! I kept the car running and the heat going full blast, knowing full well that Kaity would last perhaps ... 15 minutes; but in all fairness, there were none of her friends there with her--only a father and son that we did not know. I was just pleased to see her laughing, falling off the sled, climbing back up the hill ... Kaity! You are such a JOY.

When we drove over to my place, we got nice and warm while I was cooking something for us to eat (our usual hotdogs). Kaity wanted to see Spiderman 2, so we began watching it; however, Kaity was NOT at all interested in the story, so we gave it up after 20 minutes. Instead, we played four games of Memory (using different sets of cards that I have). Kaity won 1 game, I actually won 1 game (unbelievable!), and we tied TWO games. Yay. It's the best I've done playing Memory in a very long time. To be totally honest, though, Kaity was half on her phone and half playing the games ... so that's probably why I did as well as I did. No matter. At least Kaity was here and we were together. That's all that really matters anyway.
