Inside Hope Chapel ~ Ft. Bliss
The Easter service over at Hope Chapel on base began this morning at 9:00 a.m. It was surprisingly cold here today ~ I think in the 50's most of the day. The children were dressed up in their very best clothes, excited for the day ahead. It was a good worship service with a lot of music to celebrate the resurrection of the LORD. I was very thankful to be there, surrounded by the grandchildren, singing praises and remembering all He has done for us.
Emma dancing in her Easter dress ...
Diana said she picked it out at the store all by herself!
Christopher joined in the dancing ...
this, however, was NOT his Easter outfit!
After church, we went over to the house and made a ton of pictures together while Diana was busy preparing lunch. Emma decided to keep her pretty pink dress on for the whole day! We stayed around the house and just played throughout the day. I brought my hand-held voice recorder along and we had fun singing songs into the recorder and then playing it back. I'll do more recording tomorrow so that when I am back in Michigan and I'm lonely for these little ones, I can play back the tape and hear their sweet voices. I used to use a tape recorder when my boys were little to record events like Christmas morning and other special times. I still have some of those tapes, and it is really fun to play them back and hear the laughter and remember those times together.
This is Emma's Build-a-Bear cat.
There is a recorded message from Jesse inside ...
she can squeeze the paw and hear his voice!
Christopher has a Build-a-Bear dinosaur (Spiker)
and Matthew has a Build-a-Bear dog ...
all of them have Jesse's message inside ~ very nice!Diana and the boys dying eggs ...
Later in the day, Diana got everything ready to dye eggs. Emma, Chris and Matthew enjoyed this very much. Tomorrow afternoon, we are going to the zoo. We'll talk to you more tomorrow night!
The eggs were dyed and after they dried,
the kids added colorful stickers ... Emma making a silly face with the eggs!I think the eggs turned very pretty!

What fun day. It was cold here in Austin too- 50s but suppose to be warming up nicely this week before you arrive on Wednesday.
The children are beautiful - they all have such pretty complexions! It looks like they were having a great time. Nice job on your pictures! By the way, it is snowing here! We're supposed to get 5 inches tonight! :( That sand looks really inviting right now!
