This and that ...

This is a collection of pictures from February again, mostly of Brendan because this was just prior to baby Aidan being born and that week or two before his birth, I tried to spend some extra time with Brendan. I took the "easy" way a lot of evenings and just went to the Mall and played with the toys at Barnes & Nobel or went over to Schuler Books and played there ...
Brendan plays really nicely with other people's toys. What is doubly nice is that he doesn't "beg" for every toy he sees to be purchased. He is just fine to play and then leave them there for the next time.
We did a lot of reading without buying the books as well. We were super careful with them, so as not to ruin them for someone else.
Brendan has a super imagination and is SO animated with stories. He loves to pretend and I love to pretend with him!

A nice little portrait of our handsome Little Fellow.
Here Brendan is at Culver's trying to eat a lemon without cracking a sour face while doing it ...
He did pretty good too ....
But then it finally got to him!

Here are a few shots of Kaity on a Monday afternoon ... the sun shining on her hair is so pretty, isn't it?
Kaity loves to use scissors and I have lots of cute little ones for her to practice with.

I found a sale at Meijer's and got the game of Mouse Trap for the children. Little did I know how MUCH they would love it. NOT the game part, the trap part ... and the little mice (Nacho, Sneaky, and Pepper). Brendan has played with this little toy for EVER. He gets no end of happiness from the trap coming down on one of the miceys.
The first night I had this game, Brendan played for a solid hour ... of course, we made up a little story about the mice and the mean monkey being all selfish with his bananas, etc.

In preparation for Brendan spending some "nights" overnight at my house, I found a super sale on a two-person tent. The best $19.99 I have spent in a very long time. ALL of the kids love this tent, which happens to be set up (for the time being) in my front room (of all places). I lined it with one of those foam bed mattress things (king-size) and opened up two of the three sleeping bags (which fit exactly from corner to corner) and it is VERY comfortable inside and very cozy too.

The tent has ended up being a life-saver with having Brendan spend the night. He loves to sleep inside with the door and window all zipped up and the little lantern shining overhead.

The following pictures are of a very exhausted little boy ...

And one last chocolate ice cream picture for good measure ...
