February 6 A special treat

Thursday: So not only did I get to pick Cal up from preschool yesterday afternoon, I also got to spend time with him this morning. Cal usually goes to preschool Thursday mornings, but this week there was NO Thursday school for Cal; so I came over to his house to play with him for a few hours until one of his parents returned from work. 

AND ... it turned out that Aidan Paul was home sick from school, having thrown up in the middle of the night--poor one! It was very nice to be with these two little ones for a few hours today. I didn't take many pictures or anything, but Aidan and I played a very rousing game of Chess and we tossed around paper airplanes for awhile too.

Aidan was pretty excited to show me a new game they got for their video game system--this is actually one of BRENDAN's birthday gifts. I totally didn't even hear the NAME of this game, but it is super cool. The car Aidan is holding is remote controlled--and it has a CAMERA right over the head of Mario so that it can film Mario racing around. But more than that, the video shows up on their screen and the whole thing is rated and points are given for the best driving, etc.

What on earth will they think of next?! Who dreams up games like these? Aidan set these "markers" up--they fold up kind of tricky--but when he was finished demonstrating the game, he carefully folded everything back up and put it back in its box. Very impressive, Aidan!

I don't get to spend much time with Aidan during school months--and if I do, it's usually with ALL of the kiddos at the same time--so this was a special treat for me today.
