Christopher methodically lined up each and every Matchbox/Hot Wheels car he could find, all in a neat row ... he was going to pretend that all of them were fighting with each other, but I reminded him that we were trying hard to be kind to each other and NOT grumpy, so we may as well start with the cars!
We made some new marble runs and tried each and every marble down to see which one was the fastest ...
We ate an early lunch at about 11:30 and since it had stopped raining at about 10:00 this morning, we decided to drive over to Krupp Farms to see the small petting zoo over there. The kids were pretty excited to see the chickens, the goats, and the pigs ... but when we arrived, they were CLOSED! Perhaps they were rained out in the morning and then just never re-opened.It's been a really nice beginning to our three weeks together. We still have to decide WHEN we are going to do a bunch of other activities like:
(1) Meijer Gardens to see the children's garden and playground
(2) Millenium Park to swim and play at the Splash pad and pools
(3) John Ball Zoo and perhaps Binder Park Zoo
(4) Beach day at Lake Michigan
(5) More playgrounds and parks
(6) More time with Grandpa Pahman and Uncle Shane
So Diana and the Hands are going to talk over their schedule, and early next week we will try to decide what's next!

Bummer about the rain and the petting zoo being closed. Sounds like you are all having fun though. You are all going to be so busy with fitting everyone in but it will be so worth it! Love ya!
We'll be sure to try for all of it, perhaps some a few times over (at least the free stuff). Perhaps sometime this week when the kids and I are over we can try that petting zoo again too.
It has been so weird not having the kids around all the time and going out with out them. But its been nice catching up to old friends and I know for the kids to have special alone time with each of their grandparents. I've also been making sure I blog about once a day too:)
