Shelley and Beatrice

I have four pretty incredible nieces. ONE of them wrote a children's book that is getting quite a bit of attention!

You see, Shelley, has always been a writer and an artist. She has illustrated several published children's books in the past and people have always encouraged her to just write her own book! And illustrate it as well! So ... I think she began this project back in 2012 ...

 Shelley said she just thought Beatrice up one day and had fun sketching pictures of her. Beatrice began to take on a life of her own and slowly but surely, her story began to take shape. Shelley is super smart, so she researched other successful authors, found herself an excellent agent, and submitted some rough drafts of her work to him.

 He fell in love with Beatrice and everything has raced on from there. Disney bought the rights to Shelley's book more than two years ago and published Volume I: Beatrice Zinker, Upside-down Thinker! "There are infinite upsides to being yourself."

Shelley had a book signing at Barnes and Nobles almost two weeks ago now to a sell-out crowd. She is getting a lot of notice by the Disney folk. Her second book is complete and ready for editing! We are all hoping Beatrice makes the best-seller list. 

I've already read the book 3x because I really really like it. I love Beatrice and Lenny and Chloe too. I'm looking forward to many more books by Shelley.
