Saturday afternoon/evening, August 18: Today it was THREE grandchildren who visited. Christopher had something he was doing with Diana, so he could not come. We did not have any set plans ... just being together.
Kaity, always into something, decided to build a race track ... The picture below shows what 5 minutes loose in the playroom can do ...
However, I will say that Kaity is a VERY mechanical child (actually, they all are exceptionally mechanical--which they did NOT inherit from ME) ... she loves to build and create. I love this about all of the children.
Matthew, who was rather subdued today, joined in for a little while.
Kaity gets very "free" with my furniture, etc. and created pillow tunnels for her track and then ...
... she built a block tower ...
... oh so carefully ...
She did a very good job! She was patient and persistent with her building. Very good, Kaity!
Emma was with us too and we continued to celebrate her birthdays (without any pictures to prove that fact) by lighting 16 candles on her birthday strawberry cheesecake (home made by yours truly) and a beautiful cascade of balloons above our table ... the cake was yummy, and Emma was appreciative!
Kaity requested to go to the playground, so we dropped the older two back home and drove a few blocks up the road to "Kaity's playground."
Kaity! You are a little wood nymph still! You are growing up so fast ... but you are still my pixie-girl! You ARE! YES!
This very cool tree was Kaity's very own treehouse. We added sticks for windows and made pretend doors (which Kaity kept kicking out--on purpose--to show her great strength!) ...
The leaves were her canopy above ...
Ah, Kaity dear -- you are something else!
THIS picture ... THIS is Kaity's JOY ... I love her so much.
Sometimes you just have to go out into the woods ... because ... that's where God speaks His love, His power, His awesomeness!
