Saturday: Jesse had an opportunity for most of the day Saturday to serve veterans in W. Michigan. He helped to host a benefit down at the Armory. So I arrived at his house this morning at 7:30 to watch over Kaity-Girl until she would wake up to play.
It turns out that I finally WOKE Kaity up at 11AM! Goodness! We did a bunch of stuff, real quick, because I had an appointment that could not be broken at 1PM, so I dropped Kaity off to Emma for two hours. Afterwards, Kaity and I decided to do a bit of exploring over at Dwight Lidell Park, or at least what USED to be a park. You see, they have torn the whole thing up and we hope that they are putting in something beautiful in its place.
We hung out around the railroad tracks for awhile ... because it's just fun to do that. Kaity loves to climb and explore, so she is always 100% enthused about it.We even walked across the little railroad bridge that crosses Mill Creek and looked WAY down to the rocks below ...
I love these pictures of you, Kaity!
We were going to go under the bridge and walk ... but it was very muddy down there and Kaity was not wearing boots today. We decided against getting Kaity's shoes all muddy and ruined and just looked at the riverbed from the side of the hill.
And look! They are building a railroad bridge that will cross over Mill Creek ... but it doesn't seem to connect to any other rails! How odd ... perhaps they are going to turn it into a scenic overlook or something. We are very curious about this!
Kaity had fun posing by the huge bulldoser that has been working the land ...
We were a bit COLD outside because the wind was pretty brisk ... but thankfully, the wind did not stop us!
I love exploring with my grandchildren. They give such JOY to life ...
