Tuesday: In preparation for Tuesday's time with the three kiddos, I went to our finally opened libraries (YES!) and checked out some interesting books for them. Most of them were for Brendan. Not pictured here is an audio book about a little bear named Boof who is afraid of bears and everything else in the world until he meets a porcupine (aptly named "Pine") and they have a few adventures together. Kaity will enjoy this book too--she particularly likes the audio books.
The Paw Patrol Potty book is for the "littles" who are struggling a bit with their potty training ... but they ARE making progress, and I commend Dylan and Kelly for their patience and continued encouragement of Aidan especially. They are not really training Erin right now--she talks about using the potty and she has been successful once or twice--but Aidan's aversion to it (potty training) has spilled over to Erin as well. The kids played LEGOs for awhile ... but it was difficult to share this particular set ... so after diverting their attention elsewhere, I got out other interesting toys and snuck that one back on a high shelf.
We eventually played with PlayDoh for almost an hour. It's nice to have all three of them in one place, actually sitting at the table and completely engrossed in an activity--all three of them at one time. They do really well with PlayDoh.
Below are a few pictures of Aidan showing me the "ghost costume" he had made out of his pink PlayDoh. He was so proud of it!
Erin was very content for me to make her stuff. She requested a snake too. There is a pretty good picture of her snake way down below ...
Aidan is pretty passionate about PlayDoh. It's good for him to just get his hands in it and make stuff. He had a lot of fun and it was happiness to my heart just to watch him.
Isn't Erin darling? I love her expressions ...
Erin and Aidan did a few simple puzzles while I was quickly fixing something for their hungry tummies. These are way too basic for them, but they played with them anyway. These pictures loaded in the wrong order.
Brendan was making spaghetti out of his yellow PlayDoh ...There's Erin giving me that look again ... I think she cannot BELIEVE how many pictures I take during the few hours they are with me.
Here is Erin's snake. She wanted "eyes" and a mouth on him (if you look really close, you can see his mouth). I added the nose, which at first was really LONG and funny looking, but then I changed it to one more suited to his size.
Brendan made lots of stuff with his PlayDoh and was very happy to sit here witih us.
See the vanilla ice cream cone Brendan made?
Erin was quite intense as she tried shaping her PlayDoh ... look at her chubby little face ... you should feel how soft it is.
Aidan was making "baby" snakes for awhile ...
And then he made three tiny "cubes" into a snowman ...
... which completely cracked him up.
Love these hours with these precious children. Thank you, Lord.
