April 17 I meet Megs

Thursday:  Over a year ago (close to two actually), Jesse met a woman via on-line gaming and they became friends, and then that gradually developed into more than friendship. For the past few months (about every six weeks or so), Jesse has traveled out to Montana to spend extended weekends (Thursday through Tuesday) with Megs. She lives in a little tiny town called Miles City (population est. 8,000). Kaity even got to go and meet Megs and her kids (Adam 15, Felicity 8?, and Connor, almost 5) last June. I believe they have two cats. Anyway, everyone seems to have hit it off quite nicely. Kaity and Adam text each other and play games, etc. on-line.

This past Monday, it was Megs turn to come to Grand Rapids. Having never flown before, this was quite a big deal for her. But she did it! I invited Jesse, Megs and Kaity for an informal meal Thursday evening, so I finally got to meet this woman Jesse seems quite crazy about.

I didn't want to be obnoxious with taking too many pictures, so I controlled myself and just took a few. I like this one of Jesse and Megan very much. Jesse told me she was quiet around people she doesn't know; and she was! But we did have at least some conversation and I found her very pleasant. Their schedule was pretty booked for the week, so they could only stay an hour; but I was so glad to finally meet Megs! And look at the little "note" Kaity left for me:

One thing I found out about Megs that was very fun to know: she likes surprises. As a way of a fun surprise for Jesse, she managed to pack 700 of these tiny ducks in her suitcase to hide all over Jesse's house! Kaity brought over a few to do the same for me. I knew Kaity was up to something, but I didn't know what until after they had left when I kept finding tiny ducks in the most unusual place.
Aren't you guys terribly cold in my freezer?!?!?
And this little duck was sitting in-between the ledges on my pantry cupboards ...
And this little guy was sitting on the stair steps to my lighthouse lamp!
I decided to gather all their cute little selves and place them on my window sill to watch the birds. Aren't they the cutest?
