Our day in pictures ...

We had a jammed pack, nonstop, crazy FUN day today. I'm hoping these pictures will tell our story because I am WAY BEYOND exhausted and cannot possibly do a narrative for you. I WILL tell you that we played in the playroom, danced to Christmas music with musical instruments, dumped out a bucket full of about 3000 space LEGOs and tried to find helmets and visors for all of the space guys, played Matchbox cars ...
We painted the Christmas story BEAUTIFULLY, talking around the dining room table for more than an hour ... we had an absolutely lovely time of it!

Our finished pictures are now hanging above the fireplace ... I'll have to take a picture of that tomorrow to show you ...
Adam, Emily and Jeremiah stopped over just after lunch and spent the afternoon with us ...
I love the pictures Grandpa Jones snapped of Karis holding her wee-ist cousin ...
And just before suppertime, it was SNOW time ... and it kind of turned into a huge SNOW WAR ...

... with snow angels being made all over the back yard ...
and lots and lots of snow balls being pitched at EVERYONE ...

I was warmly INSIDE preparing our supper. Grandpa Jones took my camera and captured the snow moments ...
We were invited to an Open House Christmas party over at our dear and beautiful friend Karen's house ...

And look who showed up at the party? None of us really do the Santa Clause thing, and neither does Karen really ... but it is a nice story and this fellow is probably the best looking Santa I have ever seen ...
Everyone was posing with him and he was so kind and gracious ... Karis absolutely would not go NEAR him ...

... until the very last second (when we had ALL put our cameras away) ... but then she ran back to get a candy cane he offered her and gave him this nice hug.

Some future date, I'm going to have to edit this posting and add some better comments to these pictures ... but for now, everyone has gone to bed (again!) and I really need to get there too. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! The little kids and I have to practice doing the Christmas story with our children's nativity so that we can tell it to the grown-ups Christmas morning ... AND we are having a nice turkey dinner tomorrow ... AND we are going to the Christmas Eve service over at church ...
