March 11 Aidan is EIGHT

Tuesday Evening:  It is Aidan's EIGHTH birthday today! Wow. How did this little baby ...

Aidan, just over a year old, already READING!!!

... with his funny little ways grow up SO FAST?!?!?!? I protest!

I came over to Aidan's house early last evening to enjoy his birthday with his beautiful family. Here is Aidan opening up everyone's gifts. Look at Cal (below)!
Aidan's siblings are VERY interested to find out what is inside ...

I missed some of the actual presents because I was distracted (I forget why); but here he is opening up a few things he got to pick out himself while shopping with his folks the night before ...
This is a cool bey blade kind of gadget that spins while holding a pen and makes cool designs ...
I could see what else he opened ... I kept getting distracted!! Probably because I was being talked to by two or more kiddos at once ...
This is the card I made for Aidan, and him reading it aloud to us ...

I had asked Aidan last week what he wanted for his birthday. At first, he was rather vague--which worried me a little bit because I really didn't know what to get for him. So I asked him about books--and right away, he named "Charlie Brown", so I got him TWO books--one is all about Charlie Brown and the other one is mostly Snoopy stories. I also got the first Calvin and Hobbes comic book for him.

This kiddos LOVES to read ... I still say that reading is the highest form of pleasure anywhere in the world!

Here he is showing everyone his books.

The last gift is a Minecraft Movie LEGO set, which looks very fun. Aidan seemed quite pleased. YAY!

We played with his new stuff for awhile--Aidan even invited me to be his building partner with his LEGO model. Pizza arrived at just about that same time--so we went and ate "Buddy's" pizza (my favorite).

Aidan is having a party next weekend. Dylan has got a lot going on this week with his work; so they set the date for next week for his friends to come over. Aidan's folks really put a lot of effort into making their kids know they are loved and celebrating their special day each year.

Looking forward to your party next week, Aidan!
