August 14 At Deer Tracks

Thursday:  When we woke up Thursday morning, we played a few games and hung out awhile before getting ready to over to Greenville to Deer Tracks Junction. I love taking the grandchildren there--one on one works best for me (and them!).

Here is a BUNCH of pictures of our time there.

We purchased our tickets and wandered outside right away. THIS TIME, I decided to purchase our animal food on this end of the park instead of walking to the other store in the opposite direction. NOTE TO SELF: the food on this end was MUCH better (bigger portions, fresher carrots).

It's been more than a year since Aidan has been out here. He was noting some of the changes that had been made. He loves it here.
The prairie dog pavilion wasn't opened when Brendan and I were here a few weeks ago--but today, they had finished the maintenance work they had been doing (they were adding an extra 18" of glass to the barrier between visitors and prairie dogs). Aidan was thrilled with all of the tunnels.

Aidan had been trying to get his head band/light tighter around his head and the strap ended up disconnecting; so here he is repairing it.
It's always fun to feed the goats ...

But the TUNNELS are a lot of FUN ...

Aidan played here really a long time. Brendan did too! I don't blame them. Would you believe that 10 years ago I could actually crawl around on my knees in these tunnels? There is NO WAY I can do that any more, which is one thing sad about getting old.

This cylinder is a blast to play on (I can observe!!!) ...

Aren't these great photos of AIDAN?!?!?!

I'll post the rest of the pictures in Part 2.
