MISS Kaitlynn

Saturday, September 7:  I picked Kaity up this afternoon at 3:00. We came over to my house to spend time together today. I asked Kaity what she would like to do and she immediately said she wanted to "Play School!" So that is what we did ... for a solid TWO hours! Oh my!
Kaity appointed herself TEACHER and Paco was her adoring student. I was invited to come to class as the "mother of the pig." Ouch.
We decided that the playroom was a very good place to set up our classroom. We used the window as a white board, got out our appropriate markers, and Kaity got to work!
Since we didn't have a bus big enough to transport Paco to school, we had to pretend our dump truck was the bus ... easy peasy ... Paco was pleased.
Kaity decided we could all call her MISS KAITLYNN. She included everything possible in our school day. This picture below is of our teacher getting her class ready for a field trip outside to "catch bugs."
MISS Kaitlynn wrote her name on our board, put up a few math problems (which Paco solved with a little help), and she even wrote up some sight words for Paco to learn to read. She asked ME (the mother of the pig) to write "Saturday" on our board so that we would KNOW what day it was.
Kaity ran outside for me to take her picture as she was checking out her classroom ...
Isn't our teacher, MISS Kaitlynn, so delightful?

Our dear pet, Matey, was rather left out because we were way back in the playroom and he was out in the dining area. Kaity had a great solution--we could invite Matey to join our class. He could be the class PET!
Here is our teacher, hard at work, instructing her class in everything from soup to nuts ...
We did take a little break (because all children need "free time" to play) and we built this block tower. It was a nice break.

Near the end of our school day, our teacher got tired enough to sit down. We had talked about bugs, math, reading, and ... we were exhausted.
Then it was time for recess ... and where else to have recess but at Kaity's school playground? We took Paco there because he had worked so hard at school all day.
Kaity's school has a super nice playground. She loves to run and play and climb and slide and swing and explore.
Kaity-Girl ... I love you so much. You are a gift to your grandma!

Beauty nearby

Thursday, September 5:  I've been very negligent with my walking ALL SUMMER ... I just haven't done it! I need to get back into a routine ... it's good for my health! On Thursday, early afternoon, I drive my car about a mile down the road (towards the Beltline), parked in a subdivision and walked around some newer condominiums that have been built right on hill above the Grand River. There is a nice pathway that takes you down right to this view:

It was such a beautiful day yesterday, I took many pictures just of this area ... not a lot of difference in them except for the flowers that were emphasized.

It's a really pretty spot. I was so glad to be able to walk here and enjoy God's beauty for a little while.

I then walked to a little tunnel that goes underneath Cannonsburg Rd and walked a newer area with lots of houses being built right on Boulder Ridge Golf course. It's really pretty over here.

Not a whole lot of variation in these pictures, but I like them nonetheless. I'm glad these places are so close to where I live.

DELIGHTFUL Kaity-Girl

Thursday, September 5:  Thursdays are going to be regular days to pick Kaity up from school and spend some one-on-one time with her, hopefully every single week of the school year! I asked Kaity to show me her first grade classroom this afernoon. Here she is by her chair and table. I also got to meet her teacher, Mrs. Grace Olsson! Such a nice woman. I am praying that this teacher will do what Mrs. McReynolds did last year in Kaity's life--come alongside her, affirm her, support her, LOVE her.
And look! THIS is Kaity's locker number! 66!! That's exactly MY AGE! Kaity was so proud to show it to me. We had many smiles over it!
Kaity shares a locker with Kaliyah this year.
Here is Kaity-Girl standing right by the front door of her elementary school. This school only has Early Kindergarten through Second Grades. It's a very large school ...
AND it has a fabulous playground. Kaity loves it. After we went to my house, ate a good dinner (Kaity helped me make scrambled eggs and sausage. She also ate watermelon, grapes, and pudding for desert!), we played with Matey for a long time, played a fun game of HeadBanz, and then Kaity requested we go back and play at her school playground.

Paco requested to come along ... so here he is at his very first playground ever ...
Paco did very well going down the curly slide!

Kaity has a very special love for our little pig puppet. I'm SO glad.
Kaity spun around on these spinner things for what seemed like FOREVER. I couldn't even watch her anymore--I was going to be sick!
Kaity as the captain of her own pirate ship ...

Look at the beautiful smile on Kaity's face. Isn't she entirely DELIGHTFUL?

Kaity's favorite thing on a playground is the monkeybars. This playground has an abundance of them!

The picture below is actually Kaity free-falling from the monkeybars to the ground. She does this all the time, so I wasn't alarmed. And she wasn't a bit hurt.
Kaity is SO passionate about physical activity. She is a very athletic person.
Mmm. I love you so much, dearest Kaity.
What a fun time we had together today!
