Tuesday: Today, the children were quite subdued! Perhaps it was because their cousin, Emma, was here? We did all of our usual stuff, though, and never once turned on a single bit of technology. Thank you, Lord! Below is Erin parking her tower on the end table. She was very pleased about it.
I set up some LEGO areas in the playroom for Erin and Brendan. They actually PLAYED together on and off throughout the day. Brendan seemed SO calm and quiet--so normal today.Look at his beautiful face. I love this little boy so much. He has such a sweet heart. We are playing with my wind-up toys here and laughing like crazy.
We tried to wind them up and get them all running around together ... which is more difficult than it sounds.
Brendan! You look SO GROWN UP in this picture. Please please PLEASE do not grow up yet!
Look at Aidan's curls! They are wild and amazing!
Our dear Erin worked on building a "willy BIG house" ...
Isn't she a little doll?
We all sat at the table eating popcorn and sketching for quite a while too.
This is the very first week Erin sketched on her own paper without begging ME to do the sketching while she just watched. She requested a specific Ed Emberley book and worked on her picture for a very long time.
Aidan was being his usual goofy self. I will say, though, he is a very serious little artist.
After a short while, Brendan asked if I could get out my paper airplane books--so I did! He spent the next hour folding airplanes. Good job, Brendan.
Below is the giant house that Erin constructed with MagnaTiles.
Brendan found a paper airplane template that had a very cool vintage plane on it. So he colored it and then folded it according to the instructions. Brendan is quite "mechanical" and is an excellent reader--so he did all of this without any help whatsoever.
Matey was intrigued with everyone's pencils, and all of the cool stuff Brendan was making. I love these pictures of them.
