July 23 Our church picnic

Wednesday Evening:  I attended our all-church picnic tonight and took a few pictures. There were probably 2,000 people in attendance. There was good food, music, and a lot going on.

This is my dear friend, Julie, with the mother of a friend of hers ... I believe she is from Syria.

Julie's little granddaughters, Corrine and Tessa.

I was too busy eating and chatting to pay much attention to the stage area. While we were eating, there were different bands playing; but afterward there were a bunch of folk leading others in "games" for the children, etc.
The picnic pretty much filled the entire back parking lot at Calvary. It was a super hot night to be outside--but really a pretty night nonetheless.

Here is the carnival area. Since I did not have any grandchildren with me, I didn't spend any time over here at all. I just snapped a few pictures on my way back to where my car was parked.
It looks like everyone had a lot of fun. Below is my friend, Steve, who is married to Wendy. I lived with them for a few months in 2012 AND they were very instrumental in renovating my little beach house. Good people.

There were pulled pork or pulled chicken sandwiches, the best potato salad I have ever tasted, chips and snacks and everything else you would want to eat at a picnic. How nice of Calvary to put this on for everyone. I am glad I went to check it out.
