30 is a pretty big deal!

Today is a very special day for a very special young woman. Today our Sabrina turns 30. This picture of her was taken two months ago when she came up to Michigan for a visit. She was dressed up beautifully for her friend's wedding (Kara).
I asked Sabrina's father if he knew where I could find some baby pictures of her that I could post. He dug around the house and found some slides, which he then scanned into my computer. The following pictures are when Sabrina was a very new baby, most of them taken when she was about three to six months!
Sabrina was weaned at four months and her mother (Nia) started feeding her solids. Since Sabrina is a firstborn child, this process was done by the book! One new food at a time, to test for allergies, etc. It doesn't look like Sabrina is appreciating all of the hard work her mom is going through to get her to open her mouth ... don't you love this picture?
The above picture was taken in some kind of store that had an antique crib. Sabrina's mom was asked to place her in it for a photo opportunity ... I like the expression on her face!
And this is Sabrina's first encounter with Santa Claus!
This is Papa Jones and Theda Jo holding Sabrina in the living room over at her first house in Coshocton ... Sabrina's first Christmas ...
And this is Grandma Gussie fussing over her great-granddaughter! "Gussie" is short for Gustavia Garrett Jones (aren't you glad you weren't named after her, Sabrina???) who was born April 22, 1893 (so she is 86 in this picture) in a little speck of a place called Wakatomika, Ohio (somewhere between Coshocton and Newark) ... try to find THAT on a map!
And here is her beautiful Aunt Kathie with Sabrina all cuddled up and sleeping ...
Grandpa Jones thinks these last two pictures were taken at a train convention somewhere in Kentucky ... Sabrina being somewhere around 5 months ...
Trains at such a young age! No wonder Sabrina likes them so much.

Turning 30 for some folk is a real traumatic thing. I don't think Sabrina is looking at it that way. She has a beautiful family ~ wonderful children, a loving husband ~ and so much that God has blessed her with ... and her dad and I love her very much. We wish her the happiest 30th birthday a daughter could have!
