November 1 Olivet vs Calvin

Saturday afternoon:  Today was an "away" game for Olivet, but it sure was nice and convenient to just drive 20 minutes over to the Calvin campus to see the game. EXCEPT--Calvin doesn't really have a football stadium. They use their soccer stadium for football games. It's a nice enough stadium, but for the "away" team, it is less than convenient; plus, it's a $10 admission fee instead of $5 AND parking was also $10. I got away with not paying for parking because I followed, what I thought were the instructions to drive around a certain road until I found a spot and when I did, I think it was in the paid lot. It was confusing at best!

It was 45 degrees and a little bit misty--so not ideal for being outside for almost three hours; but definitely worth it. Olivet lost to Calvin; but they actually scored FIRST and accrued 20 points before the game was over. Calvin ended up with the winning score of 50. Lots of flags thrown at Olivet dominated the second half of the game.

Dylan, Brendan and Gregory showed up right near half-time. They had a baptism to attend over at their church late morning. It was so nice of them to come to Chris's game!
Gregory was completely FULL of it throughout the whole game. I'll tell you something though: his little body was SO WARM, it felt like I was holding a heater. Wonderful. He's such a fun little person.
I'm not sure when the last time was that I took a picture of Jesse and Dylan together. I think it was quite a long time ago.

Kaity came with Jesse to the game, along with her friend, Royce.

The Pahman kiddos made some signage for the game--how cool is this?

Brendan! Do you know how much your grandma loves you? !!!

These two! Eight years between them. They enjoy each other a LOT.

Here are some after-the-game photos. Here are Larry and Judy, Diana's parents, with Chris.

And then Dylan and the boys got in a picture with Chris too.

I didn't even try to get in a picture with Chris today. He seemed pretty tired, and I didn't want to be annoying. I think Brendan and Cal were very happy to be pictured here with their football playing cousin.

I love these signs! Dylan said that Erin designed the one he is holding. Aidan and Erin stayed home with Kelly instead of coming to the game. I don't blame them one single bit! It was miserably cold, and for a 7 and 8-year old, there wasn't much to do either.
I love this picture of Brendan (almost 14) and Chris (almost 22).

Emma was here too! I didn't take a single picture of her today. We drove separately, since the game was right here in town. She overslept and didn't arrive until half time, but it sure was nice to see her again this week. I will really miss seeing her once football ends a few weeks from now. Perhaps I can talk her into a walk in the woods every now and then ...
