Tuesday: It's my very last day with David and Carol. I can't describe how sad that makes me! There is, however, "no place like home" and I am looking forward to being back in my own little place sometime tonight.
I cannot "find" the pictures I took in Dunedin. Here's the thing: I used both my Canon camera and my phone intermittently as we walked along. When I uploaded all the pictures I took, my photo program seemed to randomly intermingle the phone and camera pictures, which made it difficult for me to sort out.
This first picture, I think, is of the small marina in Dunedin. We had gone into a lot of shops--very pretty ones, arranged and decorated to the hilt. I did purchase a cotton short-sleeve shirt for $19 and a very pretty bracelet for $5.99 and that was all. We wandered around for awhile and then went back to David's to play a few last games of Parcheesi and finish my packing before leaving for the airport.
The airport in St. Petersburg is quite small. Allegiant flies from there with direct flights to Grand Rapids. Everyone likes a direct flight! It was super crowded in the small terminal and our flight ended up being delayed for an extra hour. We were supposed to take off at 5:25 pm but didn't actually take off until close to 6:40 pm. It worked out alright, though. I phoned Jesse and he wasn't annoyed about having to pick me up later--and Kaity will be with him!I was seated in 25A, obviously just behind the wing and so couldn't avoid having it photo bomb these pictures.
I was able to crop out the wing in the picture below. I think in the distance I am seeing the city of Tampa.
I love the feeling of being a little bit "outside" the earth. I love heights and seeing so far away. It's amazing to be up in the air like this. I really love it.
The body of water below us is (I think) the Gulf, which is really different than the ocean. It's much less wavy, for one thing.
I wonder what that very small island is down there--I'll have to look on a map.
We were above the clouds in no time. It was pretty to see the sunset from up there.
I'm going to post a few random photos in the next post. These are pictures that I forgot to include in prior posts, or just didn't know where on earth I was now that I look at the picture. when I snapped the picture.
