Friday: The best thing about being back home again in Grand Rapids is ... family. My family. I didn't take any pictures last night--but I stopped by to see Jesse and Kaity--they were helping their friend, Larry, lay some cement in his driveway. It was wonderful to get and give big hugs to both of them and just be with them for a little while last night.
Today, however, I got to reunite with Dylan and Kelly's little ones. Happiness! I took a bunch of pictures of little Cal today, just six days before he turns his long anticipate FIVE years old!
Cal fell asleep listening to beautiful music as we drove over to my house. I carried him into the house, all the way back to my room to one of his favorite cuddle spots. He woke up right away, but lay there for a few minutes all cozy in my soft blanket.
We played cars for awhile and other toys too, but then we were hungry enough to eat. Cal ate a bowl of Mac 'n cheese, and then he ate his hotdog with cheese. Cal is a wonderful eater.I enjoy being with this little one so much. He is such a funny little kid.
Right after lunch, Cal requested that we play with my Playdoh--so I got it out and we had so much fun.
Cal told me he was going to design a scary Playdoh monster and told me to design one too--THEN we could have a monster battle ...
Cal designed with intention ... he loaded up his monster with weapons of WAR ...
In the front--do you see the pinchers? Those were his monster's front line of offense ...
I was still trying my best to design a scary-looking monster ... mine ended up looking like a weird fish.
Cal did not allow me to give my monster any weapons except the one on top of his head. We battled, and mine lost without hardly a minute going by. He was stabbed in the front, on his head, and then stomped on by Cal's monster. Defeat was uncontested. My monster was unrecognizable! Cal had me reconstruct my monster several different times, all with the same battle plan and result.
