Saturday: I was invited to a "surprise" 70th birthday party for my friend, Wendy, this afternoon. She had just stopped by a few days ago, kind of "out of the blue", having got her haircut out this way. She called and asked if she could swing by for a visit, so she did! We hadn't connected for a very long time, so it was nice to see her.
I lived with Wendy and Steve for a few months back in 2012. They are super nice people who are really good at fixing things up, making their yard beautiful and welcoming, and doing all kinds of home improvement projects.

Both Wendy AND Steve are really good at growing flowers! Look how lovely they are!
Wendy made this GLASS flower plate by gluing three rather old-ish glass plates together (she found them at Good Will), attaching all of it to a pole and planting it like a flower out in her garden. What a fun idea!
Wendy was SUPER surprised as people kept coming to wish her a happy 70th all throughout the afternoon. It's actually been a few weeks since her actual birthday--which kind of made it easier for Steve and her daughter to arrange this little surprise for her. So many of her friends showed up. I loved watching Wendy's smile and her obvious appreciation. She is a sweet person.
