Friday: A few weeks ago, Dylan and Kelly invited me to a luncheon lecture at Acton--basically a kind of introduction to and promotion of Dylan's book that will be released October 21. His book it titled: "The Kingdom of God and the Common Good, Orthodox Christian Social Thought." The book is basically his doctoral thesis, if I understand that correctly. "He completed his PhD in theology from St. Mary's University, Twickenham, London, on the basis of his published works on Orthodox Christian social thought and asceticism" (this quote is on the back of his book).
So that was today! I was happy to be there and be introduced to several of Dylan's colleagues and friends.
I have sadly misplaced the program leaflet which would better identify what was transpiring here. But here is Dylan at Acton, giving his lecture that describes his book--basically a summary of the purpose and content of the book. Dylan had a very nice introduction as Dr. Dylan Pahman--the first time I have heard him referred to as this title by someone other than his loving Kelly! The gentleman on the platform is a much respected economist is Dr. Alexander William Salter, who enthusiastically endorsed Dylan's work. He also lectured for about 20 minutes about the content of the book. The hour went by quickly! I was glad to have been able to share this time, and really proud of Dylan too.
Here is my personal copy of Dylan's book. His complimentary 30 copies arrived Saturday, and he gave one to me. I had him sign it for me too.
Appropriately, Dylan dedicated his work to his dad. "My hope is full of resurrection" is engraved on Jim's tombstone. He would be very proud of Dylan too.
