Saturday: YAY! It's official! Chris and Ella are engaged! Chris has had Ella's engagement ring for months now and was waiting for just the right time and location to propose and put the ring on her finger. It's kind of a cute and funny story actually. You see, Chris just thought that a good place for a proposal would be out at the Rockford Dam, because that's where he and Ella met, or perhaps had their first date--I forget. But they were casually talking about this back in the summer, and for some reason, Ella did not want the location out in Rockford. So, Chris's second choice was the beach--because--how beautiful that would be! But somehow this leaked to Ella and she poo-pooed that idea because "everybody gets engaged on the beach!" and actually they knew at least two other couples who just recently did that very thing. Ella wanted a more unique setting.
So ... Chris was kind of left searching for a good place. I'm not sure how he decided on Roselle Park, but that's where he proposed! Roselle Park is in Ada. It's a very pretty spot with a beautiful trail that leads to the Grand River. I used to take the kids there when they were younger--there is a unique playground there with a climbing wall too.
SO ... I stole these first five pictures off of Facebook. Ella's sister took these pictures. But since absolutely no one looks at this Blog, I'm sure she won't mind if I use them, and I am so glad she was there to take them! You certainly don't want to forget a moment like this ...
These pictures were posted yesterday afternoon on Facebook, and naturally, everyone went crazy with the JOY of it. Congratulations Chris and Ella!
