October 17/18 Erin's Sleepover

Friday/Saturday:  This week it was Erin's turn to come over to her old grandma's for a sleepover. I've been planning all week for her visit! I got the little dolls and their clothes ready, found their little blankets and bottles, got some special coloring books out, located some special pens and markers, got a jewelry kit set up, etc.

I picked Erin up a little after 4:00 Friday afternoon. We basically just played and hung out Friday evening, playing games, coloring, and then watching a movie. I was better prepared for Erin's bedtime this time around. Erin usually goes to bed at about 7:30 when she is home; but I've tried putting her "down" around 8:30 or 9:00 and it never works. She is out of bed 50x and just never wears out. SO ... I decided we would both just stay up late Friday night. We didn't even begin watching our movie until 8:00!

Erin made a nice Halloween card for her mom. AND she made a very pretty Halloween bookmark for me (which is not pictured).

Erin was quite happy to sit at this table and color and paint for the longest time Friday night. We were very relaxed and happy. We watched "The Secret Life of Pets" (the first movie), got out our stuffed animals from that movie and just enjoyed ourselves laughing over all of the funny parts of the story. After the movie was over, Erin got tucked in and actually fell asleep by about 10:30. I was careful NOT to lay down myself for fear I would fall asleep before Erin did. That happened a few times ago and I was quite "cross" with Erin when she woke me up several times in a row. I felt badly about that and made sure it would not happen again!
Erin was wide awake at 6:30 am, so we just got started on a very happy few hours together at my house.
It was very fun to watch Erin design a sock puppet. She was VERY enthused, creative, and happy the whole time she was working on this. I'm talking TWO hours worth!
She completely designed the entire puppet by herself. The only thing I did to help was to be the person with the hot glue to put all of the pieces together--the glue is very HOT!

Here is FLUFFY! To explain: The little red "paws" are actually the arms of the rabbit--she is wearing RED gloves, and holding a yummy carrot. Erin did the lettering of "Fluffy" all by herself. Nice job!
This is the front of Erin's Halloween card for Kelly ...
Erin also designed a very pretty necklace. This, too, was a gift for Kelly.

We played with our magnets for a long time too. Erin designed a little magnet robot guy AND she made a little turtle out of some of the "jewels" in our bead collection.
Erin named her turtle "Ted" and then she named ALL of the little turtles I have on my window sill.

Erin also built an entire play area out of MagnaCubes complete with Christmas bells and lights!

We had such a fun time hanging out together. I was so thankful for this time with Erin. We ate a little lunch of hot dogs and chips before we left for Altitude. I'll post those pictures next.
