Friday night: After we dropped Kaity off at her dad's place, we drove over here and ate a dinner that I had made ahead of time. Brendan had two helpings!!
I got out all of the arts and crafts supplies so that Brendan could design his own sock puppet, and he worked for a very long time on it!
I completely failed to take a picture of the final result of Brendan's puppet--pooh. He actually made a puppet that was dressed up like a dragon (I think). It was very complicated, having two layers of material and ... a lot of hot glue was used in the process. Brendan really "went to town" on his design! I was so pleased to see him working this hard on something that he made himself.
After I finished cleaning up our meal and some of our crafting, I made Brendan a root beer float and then we talked over what movie we would watch tonight. Most of what I had suggested (!!) was not enthusiastically received; so I told Brendan he could just pick a movie and we would watch it. I think, however, in the future I will do this differently.
"Dungeons & Dragons" (there was also a subtitle, but I forget what exactly it was) was what Brendan really wanted to see; so we saw it. Brendan assured me there was some comic relief in the middle of all of the darkness ... and I agree that there was SOME comedy involved; but honestly, I was pretty glad when it was over. Just not my kind of movie. Too dark. I told Brendan that next time, I get to pick the movie! This was all in good naturedness, so no worries.
I popped some buttery popcorn that Brendan enjoyed during the movie. After the movie was over at about 10:30, we got ready for bed and I think we were pretty settled in our rooms by 11 or so. We are hopefully planning on driving out to Schwallier's tomorrow to enjoy the corn maze and other things ... I hope it doesn't rain!
