Saturday: Aidan's big day finally arrived. He was SO excited. I took a bunch of pictures. I don't remember all the names of all of these people--but I'll try to name them if I can.
This is Aidan with "Piggy". Aidan let everyone know that "Piggy" sleeps with him.
I brought along a balloon in case it was needed for a little group play ... Aidan loves balloons ... so do his friends!
So on the far right of this picture is a guy named "Jeff" (I think). He is married to Teresa, who couldn't make it today--I think she had to work. Their little girl, Marina, is wearing light green (?) sweat pants--she is 18 months. Luca (next to Marina) is in Aidan's pre-school class. His parents are against the wall (by the hallway door). The couple sitting in front of Dylan--I can't remember their names, but they have two children who are friends with Aidan. Standing in the rear, near the #5 is Cara, who is dating "Uncle Nick." She lives and works in Kalamazoo. It was really nice to meet her! And then on the right are Jessie and Paul and their little fellow, Walter. Callaghan has his back to me and is closest.
Little Cal really really REALLY wanted to hold this balloon, but he never quite had the opportunity he was looking for.
Everyone was pretty anxious to open presents, so Aidan began with a nice City LEGO set from one of his friends.

Here is Aidan opening up Uncle Shane's gift to him.
Aidan was super excited to open this up because he knows Uncle Shane gives REALLY good presents.
Wow! A TECHNIC set! Aidan loves putting LEGO sets together. He follows the instructions step by step and does a really good job. I think Brendan was very impressed with the size of this truck! I couldn't help but feel badly for Brendan--he loves LEGOs too and he is a super builder--it's always hard (I think) when all of the presents are for someone else other than for you. Brendan did very well with it, however. He has such a dear heart.
The hilarious part of the present opening came AFTER all of the presents were opened. Aidan right away announced to everyone that there were LOTS more presents in his bedroom! It turns out that this goofy little guy wrapped up stuff around the house for himself to open on his birthday. He brought them all out one by one and cracked everyone up by opening them.
Here is Aidan's DELICIOUS cake. Yum. He was very pleased with the #5 candle.

These are just a few quick pictures ... dear Erin wasn't feeling well at all, so she went and laid down in her room for awhile. I did catch just these few of her ...
This was such a nice party. Dylan and Kelly really know how to make their little ones feel loved and special. Such a gift.
