Monday: I had Cal all to myself today! Our day started mid-morning when I picked him up from Kelly. We played constantly for 5 hours. What fun!
We transformed all 26 letters of the alphabet into robots, and separated them by color into "teams" (according to Cal--who is wearing a name tag that says: "Gregory").
Well ... Gregory IS his name after all ... but will I ever be able to transition from Cal to Gregory? Doubtful! We built a very long racetrack that started on our children's bookshelf all the way into the laundry hallway!
Cal was quite pleased with it ...
We raced 100 cars!
While I was fixing us something to eat, Cal reported on all of the bird activity going on outside our window.
After lunch, we got out the Playdoh. Once again, I refused to build myself a monster and have a war with Cal's monster. So today, Cal decided he would NOT build a monster.
Cal helped me design Ms. Pumpkin ... he contributed the idea to decorate her dress ...
Cal wanted to wreck my snake the entire time I was making him! He came very near to destroying him before I was finished!
Cal decided to create a Boa constrictor. We asked "Siri" to show us a picture of one and then we had a better idea of how a real one would look.
Since it was such a perfectly beautiful day in every possible way, I thought we could take a few of our outside trucks over to the small playground here at Leisure Village. Cal was all "IN" on this idea. I even let him sit on my lap in the car and steer on our way over ... don't worry ... we never left the side streets!
Cal! You are as cute as a bug ... I love you to pieces.
Gah! Isn't he something else?!?!?!
I requested a smile, and this was the result (below) ... he cracks me up.
We made up riddles about these three animals for quite awhile ... it was really fun: i.e. Q: "Why did the elephant open the refrigerator?" A: "He wanted to eat the jell-o." OR Q: "Why did the lizard scratch on the floor?" A: "He was writing a letter to his mother." Cal really loves riddles.
Then we went back home and played a few games of foosball. I won the first game by 2 points, and Cal won the second game by 1 point. He was quite desperate for a win and got it!
Cal watched one 20-minute Dino-Dan episode while I was picking up toys, and then we drove back to his house by about 3:15. The two middle school girls who watch the kids after school drove up at the same time as we did, so those girls took over and I drove back home. I was kind of thankful the girls showed up. After lifting over 500 pounds of river rock over the weekend, I find that every muscle in my aged body is rather ... OUCH the last few days. Presently, I am happily resting in my own dear home.
