June 6 DTJ continued

Friday afternoon (cont):  Cal could have stayed at the budgie enclosure for HOURS ... look at his darling face. He absolutely LOVED these birds.

At one point, pretty early on in our budgie adventure, Cal had three budgies on one arm, two on the other, and one on his HEAD! This cracked him up completely, and I was laughing so hard I failed to take a picture of it.
Aren't they SO beautiful?

I love the absolutely peacefulness about Cal's experience here. He was so gentle and SO interested in everything these birds were doing. It made me think so much of what we have to look forward to in eternity--friends with animals of all kinds--no hurry, no fighting ... just everywhere beauty to interact with.

Cal was so pleased every time a bird landed on his stick.
When he had THREE at once, he was just delighted all over.

What a beautiful little soul you have, Cal!

We had gone through the three seed sticks we had within about 20 minutes. Other people, who were not as intent on staying as Cal was, gave us their unused or partially used seed sticks--which kept Cal on the move and quite content to stay with the budgies for over an hour. What a kid.

I love these pictures of you, dear little Cal.

If you are wondering WHY Cal has on his bathing suit, it's because that's what he was wearing when I picked him up this afternoon from his folks. I asked if he wanted to change his clothes before going to the farm, but he replied: "No, grandma. I am OBSESSED with my swim suit!"
