June 14 A Baby Doll!

Tuesday Evening:  After jumping at Altitude, the kids were ready to return to their air conditioned house. I snuck Erin's presents in by covering them with a blanket--I wanted to be sure that her opening these gifts didn't interrupt their dinner time or anything else Dylan and Kelly wanted to accomplish tonight.

Since our meal was still in the oven, it was decided that Erin could open these few gifts BEFORE eating. When I took the blanket off to reveal the packages, she just lit right up!
SO DID CALLAGHAN ... having just celebrated his 2nd birthday four weeks ago, he thought certainly these were presents for HIM ...
... he even posed for several pictures, anticipating the joy of opening more gifts ...
... except ... it was NOT to be. Cal had to be escorted out of the room because his sobs were so heartbreaking.
It was so much fun to see Erin open her baby doll. "This is what I've ALWAYS wanted!" she exclaimed. Super cute.

The portable baby bed and carrier pouch put her right over the top. I LOVED every minute of watching how delighted she was to be a REAL mother! She fed and fussed over this little baby for the longest time. Sweetest thing ever.

Look how tender Erin is ...
Aidan was quite taken with dolly too ...

Erin loved that Kelly put REAL water in baby's bottle ...
Look at her dear face ...

Oh.my.word. I could absolutely gobble this little honey child right up ...
Meanwhile, Callaghan was allowed back into the room and began exploring the baby items ... taking a little pretend sip from the bottle ... cutie.

I LOVE these pictures ... I LOVE this granddaughter right up to the moon ...

So glad Dylan and Kelly agreed to having Erin open these tonight. At her Saturday party, she will be very overwhelmed with friends and other presents. I realize it was rather self-focused of me, but ... grandma's DO have a few perks afterall!
