June 9 These three at Millenium Park

Thursday Afternoon:  I picked Kaity up from Jesse at 3:30 this afternoon. Kaity's "besties" were over in the driveway, all playing together. On a whim, I invited Kenzie and Harper to come with us over to the playground at Millenium Park. Their folks okayed the plan, and we were OFF ...

Naturally (!!) I got a little bit turned around while driving to the park, but we did finally get there without any huge mishap. Here is Kenzie ringing the little bell on top of a climbing apparatus.

Kaity followed quickly after ...
This crazy looking teeter-totter was all roped off with yellow tape on Tuesday when I was here with Brendan, Aidan and Erin ... but we watched as kids just took the tape off and played on it anyway. There was a reason for the warning tape ... this thing is missing a very key part that controls just how far it can circulate without going all the way over! It's really not very safe to play on and I shooed these girls off of it as soon as I saw them! While we were there, we saw quite a few kids get marginally hurt on it.
The girls explored the entire place for an hour or so, laughing and having a good time.

I pushed all three of them on the tire swing until I could push no longer! It's more difficult than it looks to push a combination of about 180 pounds on a tire!

They did manage to pull on the chains and pump their legs to keep the tire going for awhile too.

At Millenium Park, there is a lot of good things to do ... like swim in the lake, run around their splash pad, explore the trails, etc. It's been too cool this week to go swimming ... but hopefully it will warm up soon ...
... it IS JUNE afterall! This is a nice place. We will be back!
