November 13 with Kaity & Emma

Saturday:  I don't have many pictures to post from our time together today. Neither of the girls was very agreeable to having their picture taken ... but we had some unusual circumstances today--so I understand why they were not keen on pictures.

I had told Emma about the very huge tangle/wad/mess that I found in the back of Kaity's hair when she was over Thursday. Kaity's had "wads" of tangles before, but this one surpassed any I had encountered in the past. I didn't realize that Emma would commit her Saturday afternoon to removing the tangle from Kaity's hair ... but after three hours of combing, oh so carefully -- while watching the last 1/2 of Home Alone and then the entire Home Alone 2 movies, Emma accomplished it. However, this entailed cutting a significant amount off the length of Kaity's hair ... probably 8-10" of it. Anyway, I attempted to snap a picture or two of the process, but those pictures are not worth posting--neither girl wanted the pictures taken. Before the whole "hair" thing started, Kaity and I had done a little bit of building for Paco and Oscar (who somehow gained the nickname "Chuck" over the last day or two). I took a few pictures of what we made and some other odd shots ...

We were trying to make a house for Paco and Oscar ... this is as far as we got!
Kaity had brought baby Angel over for a visit. She and Oscar and Belle cozied up on the couch for awhile.

We had invited Matthew to come over for a few hours, but we were turned down this weekend. It's probably for the best because the "hair" thing took about three hours. Emma was determined and she would NOT allow any interference from me whatsoever. SO ... that's how it was. We were all glad, though, that Emma successfully removed the mess from Kaity's hair. She has very nice hair! We have made a plan for tomorrow, after church, to take Kaity up to Great Clips and have them professionally cut Kaity's hair--just straighten up a few of the rough places. We found that Kaity's hair is quite thick and it just wouldn't lay nicely after it was cut so bluntly. So ... tomorrow we will rectify that!
