November 6 Precious family ...

Saturday:  Emma and I picked up Kaity and Matthew today at 3:00 and drove out to Rockford to enjoy the beautiful weather. I love Rockford! The colors have peaked, there is not an abundance of leaves remaining ON the trees, but it is still SO beautiful ...

We walked a long the dam ...
Emma and Matthew enjoyed a good, long time together walking at a slower pace than Kaity and I ...

I ran to catch up with Kaity and then we walked the boardwalk north of the dam, along the Rogue River.

We caught up with a few swans ... but they were SO snooty they would not come near ... this is a poorly zoomed in shot of them against a very ugly background. I edited out the building in the background.
I LOVE these colors, don't you?
Kaity was super happy to be outside. She had her phone with her and took all kinds of pretty pictures with it.
We finally rendezvous'd with Emma and Matt on the other side of the river ...

Before we took our walk, all of us went inside Aunt Candy's Toy Shop. Kaity understood that we were NOT buying anything today, but she did give me some very good Christmas ideas--we even took pictures of some of her choices. However, right as we were leaving the store, this little puppet was pointed out to me. GAH! A sea otter with rubber feet, nose and the tiniest ears! You can put all of your fingers up into the puppet and you can pose him in the funniest of ways! Naturally (!!), he begged to come home to my house and join the other puppets here ... Kaity was thrilled.
We have officially named him OSCAR C. OTTER--not having yet designated what the "C" stands for.

We ate french toast, sausages, scrambled eggs and Matt even enjoyed a soft taco or two for dinner. THEN we played a game of Monopoly--which Matt won! The two pictures below are Matthew having a discussion with Emma about how her last turn was completely outrageous in what it did to his assets ...
... but then he pulled out one of his "Here and Now" cards and negated Emma's whole deal.
It was a very fun time ... really precious because Matthew was here with us. I love it so much when he comes over.
