June 15 DTJ Part One

Thursday:  Rather on a "whim", Kaity and I drove out to Cedar Springs at about 3:30 this afternoon to visit Deer Tracks Junction. It was a cool and comfortable afternoon--slight chance of sprinkles, but nothing prohibitive of being outdoors. We figured this might actually work to our advantage and lessen the crowds. We were right! I took SO MANY PICTURES that I am going to have to divide these posts up to do our visit justice; even then, I will only post a fraction of the ones I would LIKE to:

We love this place SO much. Admission is $15. The cup of carrots is $4.50 (which all the animals enjoy). We spent about three hours out here and had so much fun. Kaity is a total "natural" when it comes to animals; but then, ALL of Jesse and Diana's kids are that way. No fear! Total love!
The sheep are NEW to DTJ this year. Oh my! Who could resist such a darling little animal?
The facial expression!
Kaity loved her!
Here are the EMUS ...
Kaity was demonstrating how STRAIGHT she could stand and showing them just how much taller she was than they were ...
The baby pigs! GAH!!!

We went to the rabbit house to see if there were any newborns--but there weren't any. The ones Kaity held were as soft as feathers though.
The turkeys! Kaity says the turkeys on the land behind her dad's house are this big!

The next post will be total BUDGIES ... because DTJ made a brand new budgie enclosure and it is SO great!
