February 1: Since the roads were clear of snow and ice Thursday, I decided Brendan and I would come out to the Beach House and hang out here for awhile and just have a quiet dinner--our usual Pasta and broccoli, fruit, chocolate milk, etc.

When we got to the Beach House, Brendan was pretty intent on building a race track for some of the newer Matchbox cars I've picked up in the last few months ...
So ... as I was getting dinner ready ... he built track!
... and raced cars ...
And built a more elaborate track in the playroom ...
Brendan has definite ideas about what he wants to do. He has quite a determined little heart about him. I like his confidence and his patience to see a project through. He is quite industrious!
So ... I just sat down and visited with him while he "did his thing." He didn't really want any help with the construction. It was fun to just sit and talk with him about stuff: school, friends, life ...
Brendan is not difficult to be with ... he is a very contented person deep in his spirit. It makes being with him quite easy. Plus, he enjoys so many things ... he is not hard to "entertain."
Two days from now is your SIXTH birthday! I find that hard to believe! HOW did these years fly by so fast?
