More of Brendan ...

Brendan and I played our first ever game of "Shoots and Ladders" Wednesday night. First, we put the puzzle together, and then we played the game. My game does not have one of those old-fashioned spinners (which Brendan would probably have preferred), but just uses one dice.
Brendan was quite enthusiastic about throwing the dice. I showed him how to ROLL the dice, but he preferred THROWING it and watching it fly.
He was very pleased with this game and didn't mind one bit about sliding down the snakes--that was the fun part!

Sweetest little face!

We my wind-up toys down from the top toy shelf in the playroom. I put them away about a year ago because certain of my bigger boys were being a little too rough with them--and then I forgot all about them!
Brendan just loves cause and effect--so winding up a toy and then watching what it does is quite a delight to him ...

I didn't photograph all of them, but this horse was probably Brendan's favorite; although he loved the kangaroo and the bumble bee too.
Look at those soft cheeks on this precious kiddo!
Dylan and Kelly went to an Acton event Wednesday evening, so I got to be Brendan's caregiver! Yay!
He is not difficult to care for. I have rarely met someone so easy to love as this little child.

He loves to play with my favorite lighthouse ...
He especially loves the little seagulls!
And the spinning light is pretty entertaining too.

We got out our scissors for a little practice cutting stuff out. And we got out my paper punches too.
 Brendan loves to use scissors!
These are not especially easy scissors to use, however. But Brendan was quite tenacious with his efforts.

 Such determination.

Ah, Brendan, you have so many expressions. I never get tired taking pictures of your dear little self. Grandma loves you to pieces.

Brendan makes it on the news ...

It's not every single day (!!) one of my grandchildren shows up on the daily news, so this is kind of special! Dylan and Kelly took Brendan to ride the Coopersville/Marne train the week before last, and a news crew was there to report on an upcoming Mystery Train.

Brendan's sweet little soul must have caught the cameraman's eye and Brendan was on for about 5 seconds at the end of the news clip!
Dylan posted the video portion of it today on Facebook, so I ran the video and took a few screen shots of little fellow and his precious smile ...
When Dylan was a little guy, about 5 years old or so, his picture was on the front page of the Grand Rapids Press, in color no less! We had been over at the Gerald R Ford Museum throwing frisbees around on that huge lawn by the river, and a camera guy caught Dylan mid-flight chasing a flying frisbee. It was momentous. And now Dylan's son has his little moment of fame as well. So fitting.

My happy little fellow ...

I can hardly believe it, but Brendan is almost 3-1/2! He is getting so big and so grown up. I wish I could freeze time for a little while except that with each week, Brendan gets more and more fun to play with and converse with … so perhaps it will just continue to get better and better!
I stopped by his house after work and we played for a little while.
Brendan is quite a hard worker when he plays!

It is so fun to watch him. He is a very entertaining little person.

These are the little construction trucks Nana bought him for his birthday. He loves them.

 Could anyone resist this sweetheart?

When I arrived at his house, Brendan had this present to give me! He was SO excited!

Why the gift of flowers?! I don't know! Kelly just said that Brendan wanted to pick out flowers and these were the ones, out of all to choose from, that he thought I would like best. They are gorgeously beautiful and my heart is full.
