Thanks, Jesse ...

This is a picture Jesse sent to me soon after he had moved onto the Army base at Ft. Bliss, before Diana and the children joined him there in the spring of 2007. We've visited at the base now about a half dozen times, and although lots of stuff there has physically changed, this view of the Franklin Mountains remains ... breathtaking and beautiful.

I just want to say thanks, Jesse, for your sacrifice to serve our country and to provide for your family. You've done a good job as a soldier! I thought I'd just share these few verses with you ~ even though this is talking about a future time when Christ will rule and reign supreme ... it is an awesome passage to look forward to.

"The LORD will settle international disputes. All the nations will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. All wars will stop, and military training will come to an end. Everyone will live quietly in their own homes in peace and prosperity, for there will be nothing to fear. The LORD Almighty has promised this! Even though the nations around us worship idols, we will follow the LORD our God forever and ever." Micah 4:3-5

With love for you, Jesse. VETERAN'S DAY 2009.
