Home from El Paso!

I had ONE goal today: get in my car, get out my maps and Mapquest directions, and actually manage to get out of Detroit without having to call my cousin Wayne for H-E-L-P!

Wayne is a police officer in Allen Park, Michigan. My Aunt Jan is his mom and I stayed overnight at her house last week Monday because she lives about 20 minutes away from Detroit Metro Airport ~ and I had tickets to fly to El Paso the following day (Tuesday). I returned to Detroit yesterday evening and my cousin's wife (Michelle) picked me up at the airport and delivered me back to my Aunt Jan so that I could get a good night's sleep before driving home to Grand Rapids today.

After a really really NICE visit with my aunt, I left her place at 10:30 this morning. There is a lot of construction going on around her neighborhood, so there are lots of detours and roadblocks ... and I naturally made about a dozen wrong turns (at least) before I finally found I-94! I-94 is only about 5 minutes from my aunt's house, but it took me about 25 minutes to find it! And I didn't have to call Wayne even ONCE! Tada! He would not have been one bit put out, though, to have received a call from me. He is the nicest guy! That picture of us is from the day I drove DOWN to Detroit and ... got lost enough to have to call him. However, I did not make the SAME WRONG TURN that I had made in December ... so there was at least some improvement on my part! He was very willing to come and "bail me out" again and deliver me to my aunt's house. How very kind of him!

I have just successfully loaded 320 pictures onto my computer of my time in El Paso with Jesse's family. I need to go through and edit them, pick out some of the best pictures, and then post them for you to see! Hopefully I can get that accomplished some time tomorrow ...

pictures you so generously share.
Thanks so much. As for getting lost,
I told you in December how bad I am.
