There was the possibility of rain and thunderstorms Saturday, so Chris's football game got moved up a little bit time wise. Comstock Park was playing Rockford, over at North Rockford Middle School.
Chris was pretty pumped for the game and felt that his team at least stood a chance at beating the Rams ...
We gathered and watched the team practice ...
Again, I don't have any pictures of the actual game! By the time we've watched the practice part, the other kiddos are "finished" watching football and are looking for something else to do.
Since we were out in Rockford, and the game was actually on the field of the middle school, there was NO playground to be found.
Since a few of the practice fields were wide open, we decided to run around a bit and display some of that endless energy ...
Kaity-Jane is a definite runner. I think they ought to major on this for her life. She is obviously delighted whenever she is running at top speed! Perhaps she will be interested in running track some day … who knows?
There was a light sprinkle falling, so we walked over to the school building, taking my sidewalk chalk along with us.
I had brought a couple of Matchbox cars too … so Ems and Matthew decided to draw some roads and city for their cars to explore.
My job (!) was to keep Kaitlynn from destroying the chalk drawings, or from adding "scribbles" of her own to them. This was quite a task, I will say, and kept me pretty occupied for most of the time we were there!
Emma and Matthew made roads and expressways, and drove their cars around for awhile.
Kaity-girl found a place to run back and forth, back and forth, and she did a little climbing as well.
I was just thankful to be with the children … together … I love them so much.
The football game ended. The Rams were victorious by two touchdowns. Christopher vowed that when they come to OUR field, we will WIN.
