Rocket football and other Saturday stuff ...

This post has a crazy amount of pictures, but it was one of those kinds of days! My day began meeting family over at "Kingdom Court" … a place I had never before heard of but actually ended up being on very familiar ground. Chris's Rocket Football team was playing their second game and this was the team they were playing ~ at their home field.
Chris's game was supposed to begin at 10:30, but didn't actually get under way until around 11:00. These pictures are of the Comstock kids practicing before the game.

So I took a couple of quick pictures of Christopher while I had the opportunity ...
The football field wasn't quite up to par … it was actually a baseball field that they had quickly transformed into use for the game; so their were NO end poles, no official score board, no bleachers, etc.

But Chris was ready for the game …

Once the game got underway and we watched it for awhile, it became apparent that Emma and Kaity-Girl were less than enthused about sitting there "watching" a game that they did not understand. Emma had mentioned seeing a playground not far from the field … so off we went!
Emma was exactly right too! The playground was just behind one of the larger school buildings. It was a really nice playground too!

Two beautiful granddaughters … I love them so much!

We enjoyed ourselves hugely and tried out every little thing that was available to us. It had rained the prior day, and actually all the way into the early morning, so much of the playground stuff was soaking wet; which made climbing, sliding, and swinging kind of a wet affair.

I love these pictures of these darling girls ...

Emma is so good with Kaity. She takes her big sister role very seriously, and Kaity adores Emma.

I'm glad there was lots of room for Kaity to run and play. She is quite the runner, this little blondie!
A little bit later in the morning, Matthew joined us. He had seen just about enough football for one morning! So, we went exploring. Look what we found! A giant chalkboard … and guess who had sidewalk chalk in the trunk of her car? Yes!

This was such a happy hour for us! My heart was singing, just being with these precious children.

I love your beautiful smile, Emma Joy!
Kaity is quite a brave little sweetheart. She is not afraid of really tall slides ...
Matthew is a great climber. He insisted on climbing to the top of this rock climber and then leaping out into … outer space practically. He did this over and over again, until the last time he decided to do a spin in the middle of his jump and landed with more of a thud than he'd planned on …

After the game ended, the kiddos and their folks had stuff to do; but we decided that I could pick up the older three and bring them back to the Beach House for a few hours last night. They had not been over for quite a few weeks.
I've had our Bible story ready for a very long time. It's one of my favorite in the Bible ~ about Jesus chasing down Saul on the Damascus Road and how He caught him and changed his life forever.
After we were finished with the story, I asked Christopher to re-tell it to us. He decided to stand on the chair to give himself more of a platform I guess. But he was able to do a pretty good job telling us the story.
We talked all about how Jesus chased after Saul, even though Saul was his enemy, met him face to face, blinded his eyes so that his heart could see, and then healed him. It's such a great story.
I'm not sure what Matthew is thinking about here, but he always does a great job coloring our story page. I'm so thankful I had these hours with the kiddos.
