The grandchildren were here at the Beach House with me only for a short while Sunday afternoon … only three hours! I had church obligations that prohibited any longer visit; but hopefully, next week we'll have a longer span of time together.
Emma always enjoys playing the piano. She has taught herself (practically) most of the songs in the John Thompson's Beginner Piano book ...She really enjoys music. I'm so glad that she does! The boys mess around on my piano too, so I'm glad I have it here for us to use and enjoy.
The kids played a quick game of "Trouble" which never actually pleases any of them because … it's just one of those games where people get tromped on and sent back "home" and you never roll the number that gives you the winning spaces, etc. !!
We enjoyed our usual ice cream sundaes.
And we made time for a shorter Bible story this week. We have continued going through Acts and since we were in chapter nine, verses 32 - 43, we went back to learning about Peter and what he was up to. We discovered that he was traveling about the country and while he was in a little city called Lydda, he healed a lame man named Aeneas! Word of this miracle quickly spread to nearby towns ...
… all the way to Joppa where we learned about a dear lady named Tabitha (Dorcas) who had died. She was a disciple of Jesus who had many friends that she had helped by making clothing for them. But Tabitha became very ill and died. These friends sent word to Peter to come quickly! We learned how the power of Jesus' name was not only able to heal Aeneas but was powerful enough to raise this dead lady back to life. We had a good time talking about how wonderful Jesus was and IS! I was so thankful for this time sitting around the table, the children listening to the story while they colored, and just the privilege of being able to teach them about the One who has rescued us and loves us.
