A sweet victory on our home turf ...

Just a week ago, our temperatures were in the upper 70's and I was hoping for a mild and almost warm few weeks of fall. Sigh. It has rained the last two days, and promises to continue raining into next week. Our high temperature today was … 49!
But … the game must go on!
Because, after all, this is FOOTBALL!
Thankfully, we only had light scattered raindrops during the game. But it was COLD, and it was WINDY too!
Chris is playing Rocket football. He is on Team 3, which is for 10-11 year olds.
After four away games in a row … it was finally time for a home game! Yay!

Chris's team got to play at the high school's completely new football field (which is astroturf) and stadium.

It was homecoming weekend, so last night there was a big parade (which I did not attend … because it was too wet and cold!!!) and Christopher got to ride on one of the floats!

Emma "puts up" with the games … but Kaity (our little pixie-girl) really likes to roam FREE. So we took her for a little exploratory walk ...
Which for Kaity, always involves running ...
We found this broom just laying against the upper bleachers. So Kaity decided to use it a little bit.

Early on, in the third quarter, we were leading 22-0!

Matthew wandered with us too … and completely refused to wear his jacket ...

 You are SO FAST, Kaity!
Emma keeps very good track of her little sister.
The final score of the game was: Comstock Park-30 and Sparta-6. So, we didn't shut them out, but it was a very solid win!

The team huddles to hear some words from their coaches ...
… and to raise their helmets in VICTORY!

Somehow this baseball cap doesn't quite make it with the football gear … but … Chris is oblivious to this.

 Congratulations, Panthers!
Emma was telling me that their whole family got to go to the Homecoming game last night to watch the Panthers defeat Belding 45-7!
