To the zoo (again!) with the kiddos ...

Monday, the kiddos and I went back to the zoo with ONE purpose in mind (mainly) …
. . . and that was to go to the SKYWALK, the ropes course, and get harnessed in and climb the heights! I had talked to the kids about it for weeks--but somehow we had a mis-communication! For some reason, they thought I meant this was a climbing WALL type of experience instead of what it actually was! So after paying the bucks and getting our harnesses on and walking down the plank (!) into the course, all three of them looked at me like I had completely lost my mind. Long story. It was an experience! They definitely did NOT like the ropes, the course, the heights … zero. Sigh.
As soon as we exited the rope place, all three of those monkeys climbed up on this wooden train and all jumped off without one single qualm about it!

So … no more rope courses. I have heard there is a nice climbing place (for free) out at Roselle Park which I am going to have to check out ...

Since we were at the zoo, we decided to take a walk and visit some of our favorite places. We were quite thirsty and stopped to get a drink ...

Emma, our mechanic, took to the pump and Matthew tried desperately to get some spurting water into his mouth ...

Christopher was more practical and drank out of the regular fountain.
We visited the penguins for awhile ...
 And the fish too ...
But we couldn't possibly visit the zoo and NOT visit the budgies ...

I love these pictures of the kiddos!

 They just love these birds!

All three of them are getting so … grown … up.

Emma's height really helps her out in this bird cage … she can reach WAY up to entice the birds on her feeding stick. The birds always come to her! She has a way with animals.

A few of the birds landed on Emma's head for awhile ...

We were laughing SO hard … she wasn't sure she liked them pecking in her hair.
And we, naturally, visited the stingrays and checked up on baby Phin while we were there.

He was feeling a little bit better ...

We love our zoo visits. I love the fact that there are interactive exhibits and I just love to be with these dear grandchildren.
