A grizzly adventure!

Last week when we visited the zoo, we stopped by to see the grizzly bears. The zoo has two: a male and a female. They were in two separate, hard-to-see places last week and they never once came down to say "hi" to us. As we walked by the exhibit this week, the two of them were at least together, and we were able to better see them. But we stood around, talking about how much we wished at least one of them would COME ON DOWN and make friends with us! The children wanted this SO badly.
So … I looked up to heaven and asked God if He couldn't send one of these critters to a place where we could see it better! And … seriously! Two minutes later, the female got up, stretched herself and began the journey … we knew not where … but we were glad she was on the move!
She stopped to scratch her back side on the rocks for a little while … and we were a tiny bit afraid that she would scratch for a very long time!
But then she was finished, and wound her way down, down, down ...
Until she was quite visible! She had stashed away a dead fish, retrieved it, and began her feast!
But then … can you believe it?!!! And thank you, Lord … she came as close as she possibly could come without smashing through the glass!
We got to see Mrs. Grizzly up close and personal!
 Oh my! What a thrill!
I've never been this close to such a massive creature in all my life … and I'm not particularly fond of bears!
But Mrs. Grizzly was quite friendly with all of us! The kiddos enjoyed this so much. Isn't God SO awesome to answer a simple prayer like this?
Matthew! Look at his face as he checks out the grizzly! He's SO into it!
 Isn't this great?!
We felt pretty special about the whole thing!

What a wonderful zoo experience … I think we will always remember it!
