Father's Day 2014 photos … lots of them!

There have been a lot of "firsts" this year, probably because it hasn't quite been one year since Jesse and his family moved back home from Texas. Father's Day 2014 is the first year in a very long time (7+ years) that we've been able to celebrate the day with Jesse … and it was a good day.

It was a lovely summer day, so we took a little walk across the way to the elementary school playground, where we made enormous bubbles with the very same bubble wand the boys used to use when they visited with their dad ...
Brendan was really really intrigued by this ...
Matthew soon learned that "blowing" into this enormous circle produced only a splattering of … wetness … not too many bubbles!
Christopher was an old pro at it and made the biggest bubbles ever!
Emma enjoyed it too, and almost circled herself inside of a bubble once!
Little Fellow is patiently waiting for his turn ...
The school playground is very nice, and we had it all to ourselves Sunday afternoon.

Emma spent some time showing Kaity how to swing. Emma is a very good little "mother" with this little sister of hers.

I think Kaity enjoyed herself, although I am told that typically she does NOT like to swing!
There was a fun teeter-totter too ...

of this cool teeter-totter
Kaity is a good little driver … very serious about the whole process.
More swinging with Kaity ...

Finally! Brendan and Dylan did a really good job making bubbles together … although Brendan still thought that blowing in the wand might work … Dylan showed him a better way, and he was quite pleased.
We didn't do anything special, really; it was just nice to all be together here and celebrate the day. I'm giving thanks today for all of this.
