Day #7: T-ball in Austin

This was our first morning in Austin and we were so pleased to be able to see Jackson play a T-ball game! Jackson is a natural athlete ... and he is very passionate about baseball ... or football ... or soccer ... well, you get it ... he loves sports!

Jackson is on a T-ball team, part of a league of little children (ages 5 and 6) who get together and practice each week and learn the rules of the game of baseball. It's very kid-friendly and the emphasis is on FUN. But it's a great little program to teach children the value of team play and also to ease them into the rules of official baseball-dom!

I took some pictures of Jackson and Andrew "warming up." There is not a whole lot of emphasis on WINNING, as much as just LEARNING what baseball is all about.

And then the game began and if you are a parent who is NOT coaching, then you stand outside the fence and spectate ...

Doesn't Jackson look so cute in his uniform? This will be a picture to post at his wedding reception some day ...

And Karis was the cheerleader ... she's a complete natural for the job! She does have a cheerleading outfit, but she wore her "soldier" skirt today instead ...

I asked Jackson why his tongue is hanging out in this picture. He didn't have an answer to give me, so I suggested that maybe his tongue helps him concentrate on the game ... he thought that might be a reasonable answer, but he wasn't sure.

We're getting ready for a very belated birthday party for Karis Danielle. Her actual b'day was 10 days ago. We've brought presents and Andrew and Olivia are out at the store picking up the birthday cake that Karis has had picked out for months now (so I'm told). We'll take a bunch of pictures of the event, and probably post them tomorow.
