Strolling with Brendan on Kelly's birthday ...

Last Friday was Kelly's birthday ... one of those landmark kinds of birthdays ... so she and Dylan went out to dinner and a movie to celebrate. Guess who got to babysit for Brendan?!
It was a gorgeous summer night, so we got out the stroller and ... went for a stroll! Brendan doesn't like it when the sun is glaring in his eyes, so his mama found this pair of sunglasses for him to wear. Brendan wore these sunglasses for 25+ minutes, never once attempted to remove them ... and as a result, the sun wasn't bothersome at all! I finally took the glasses off when the sun was lower in the sky. Doesn't he look funny/cute/darling/precious in them?
About midway through our walk, Brendan got real sleepy and dozed off ... it was barely 7:00, though, so I knew it was too early to think he was "out" for the night. So we just kept right on walking until a motorcycle zoomed by and woke him up! I wondered if he would be startled to awaken and find he was still stuck with his grandma (instead of his mama) ... but he was OK, so I suggested that we go over to the nearby playground and swing for awhile ...
This little baby LOVES to swing ... to float ... to fly ... to soar in the sky ...
We had a very nice babysitting experience together ... with the usual 45-minute tough time getting to bed, but that is to be expected with babies ... sigh ... I finally had to let him cry it out in his crib, which lasted an agonizing six minutes, but then all was well! What a little sweetheart you are, Brendan Andrew!

The so cute comment was from me, Carol. Honestly, sometimes I wonder how I navigate in the world at all. I am so mad I didn't take a family photo of Jes, Diana and children while in TX. I ususlly don't take pictures a lot and just learned about the zoom feature on the camera the other day After I was back. Grrrrr.

I'm the same way, Judy! Technology is so far beyond me that I really wonder HOW I will manage if things get any more technical out there in the world. And the family picture thing, I totally understand. The children are so busy and I become so quickly consumed with them that I neglect to take pictures of Jes or Di at all! :(

Perhaps I will do better on this next trip. Perhaps baby Kaity will keep me more focused on including Jes and Di in my picture-taking ... hard to say, and I certainly can't make any promises to myself about doing a better job at it.
