May 15 Kaity and Charlie

Saturday afternoon/evening:  Kaity was so easy to "entertain" this afternoon! She remembered that I had hanging in my front coat closet a very special puppet--I think she had forgotten about him! I don't leave him out for everyone to play with because his strings get so tangled up!

Kaity has a real love for stuffed animals and puppets of all kinds. She loves to play and make up stories--mostly about HER being the mom and THEM being her children. She has such a marvelous imagination.

This purple, rather mangie, big bird puppet is named "Charlie." Kaity took Charlie all over my little house and showed him every little thing of interest.

She was able to manipulate the strings and make him walk, run, dance ... and it absolutely cracked both of us up!

In these next pictures, Kaity is posing Charlie ... and Charlie is asking whether or not "his good side is showing" ... so she kept turning him to make sure I got his good side.

Matey-Bird was not sure just what to make of this NEW bird. He followed Kaity and watched Charlie's every move!

Kaity even took Charlie to the potty ...

... and she thought he might enjoy a little shower time ...

She scrubbed his entire body (for about 5 seconds) and then it was time to put him down for a nap ...

Isn't Kaity a scream? I love her so much.

When Charlie awoke from his very brief nap he was hungry, so we got out the gold fish crackers. Matey wanted some too, but Charlie wasn't favorable about sharing.

Kaity even sat Charlie down on the piano bench while she showed him some pretty songs and sounds.

Finally, Charlie's strings DID get a little bit twisted up so I worked on untangling them while Kaity worked on making a card for Jesse's birthday on Monday.

It was drizzling throughout our time together--otherwise, we surely would have visited a playground. But the rain got in our way about that, so we stayed indoors and enjoyed playing right here. We didn't watch a single video today! I sure love this little granddaughter.
